This beautiful Valentine card, from “dear sister Rose” to “dear brother George,” is dated February 28, 1912.

George Schenk, Mary’s 1st husband, had several siblings, including a younger sister Rose.
Sadly, Rose died at age 30 – two months after she sent this card to George.
A lovely “New Year” card to Mary from her sister-in-law Edith (Schenck) Ledbetter, circa 1910.
A Thanksgiving card postmarked November 1912 and addressed to “Cousin Mary” from her cousin Irene Louisa Ehrhardt of Decatur, Illinois.

We are having winter weather here now. I hope you are all well. Why don’t you answer my letter?

Mary gave this beautiful birthday postcard – made in Germany – to her oldest daughter, Georgiana Frances. Unfortunately, the card is not dated.
When you open the card, the die-cut on the left inside is visible . . .
and the right inside is very roughly translated as follows:
And finally, the back side of the card is addressed to “Miss Frances Schenk”. Also note the “made in Germany” stamp on the left side.
